Casual Shoes in Dallas

Casual shoes in Dallas — driving mocs, Hooey Lopers, Kicks, Hilos and waterproof slip-ons from Twisted X and Ariat. The shoes people put on when the boots come off, and the ones that get worn six days a week.

Two brands carry this category. Twisted X built its name on the driving moc: an ankle-high chukka with a moc toe, molded footbed, and a rubber outsole blended with rice husk. The Hooey Lopers and Kicks are the low-profile versions, most of them with elastic gore panels on the tongue so they wear laced or as a slip-on. Ariat brings the Hilo line — soft leather or fabric over an FLX Foam sole, no laces to tie — plus the waterproof Buckeye, the all-terrain Spitfire and the Country Mule.

Most of these run in EE width, which is wider than a standard shoe last and the reason people who can't get comfortable in ordinary sneakers end up here. Sizes run from kids' 11 through men's 12 depending on the style.
