What we do
- Cleaning. Dust, sweat marks and everyday dirt on felt hats. Felt only — we don't clean straw or palm hats.
- Shaping (horma). Sinaloa, Marlboro, open crown, cattleman, pinch front… any shape you want. Bring a photo or pick one from our guide to hormas.
- Reshaping. A felt that lost its shape can be steamed back into it, as many times as it needs over its life.
- Hatbands and feathers. Sold separately if you want to customize yours.
- Straw and palm hats. As a rule we don't reshape them; they are sold in their factory shape.
How it works
- Bring your hat — or, if you are buying one, pick it from the wall.
- Tell us the shape you want. A photo beats a name: "horma Sinaloa" means different things to different people.
- We steam and shape it at the counter, in front of the mirror, so you can ask for changes on the spot.
- Usually it is done while you wait. A hat that needs a deeper cleaning may stay with us a little longer; we will tell you at the counter.
Price
Shaping is included when you buy your hat — change it as many times as you want before you walk out. Cleaning, reshaping on a later visit, and felts bought elsewhere have a fee — ask at the counter or call (214) 391-0508.
