El Canelo Nogales Hair-On Leather Ankle Boot

The Nogales is the one that doesn't look like anything else on the rack. It's built from hair-on hide — leather with the animal's hair left intact rather than removed — so the surface carries the natural markings and pattern of the original coat. No two pairs are alike, because no two hides are.

Handmade in Mexico by El Canelo, in the ankle height that makes the style wearable beyond a ranch.

Two things worth knowing before you buy. Hair-on is a statement material — it draws attention, which is either the reason to buy it or the reason not to. And it needs different care than smooth leather: brush with the direction of the hair, keep it dry, and don't polish it. Treated right, it holds up; treated like ordinary leather, it doesn't.
