How Much Do Cowboy Boots Cost? Real Prices From a Dallas Western Store
Short answer, from our own rack in Dallas as of September 2026: a pair of men's cowboy boots at Teres Western Wear costs between $109.99 and $1,098.99, and half of the 208 men's styles we stock are under $200. Kids' boots run $75 to $99. Women's boots run $190 to $578. That is the whole range, and the rest of this guide explains what moves a boot from one end of it to the other, so you know what you are paying for before you walk in.

The four things that move the price
1. The leather (this is most of it)
Three tiers, and the jump between them is bigger than any brand difference:
- Printed cowhide, $109.99–$195. Cowhide with an exotic pattern pressed into it: caiman print, ostrich print, "monster fish" print, imitation pirarucu. Reparo, Arango and Tanner Mark's regular line live here. It is real leather with a stamped look, it wears evenly and it costs a fraction of the genuine skin. - Smooth cowhide, $149.99–$434.99. Full-grain or oiled leather with no pattern. Durango and Ariat Sport at $150–$200, Ariat's premium lines at $225–$280, Cuadra at $339–$435. Same material family; the price difference is construction and finishing, covered below.
- Genuine exotic, $289–$1,098.99. The real skin. Cheapest in: Tanner Mark lizard and python at $289.99 and Arango python at $289. Ostrich starts at $389.99 (Tanner Mark), caiman at $389.99 hornback and $449.99–$499.99 belly (Tanner Mark), pirarucu at $465.99–$499.99 (Tanner Mark) and $679.95 (Ariat). Cuadra's exotics run $458.99 (python) to $795.99 (pirarucu), with crocodile belly at $1,098.99.
2. Who makes it and how
A Durango Rebel at $159 and a Cuadra at $394 can both be smooth brown cowhide. The Durango is factory-built at scale; the Cuadra is made in León, Mexico, and Cuadra publishes that each pair passes through more than 200 hand operations, with a leather welt and cork bed you can resole. Tanner Mark sits between the two at $169–$195 for cowhide. Ariat's premium cowboy lines ($225–$280) pay for the brand's footbed and stability tech more than for the leather. 3. Comfort and weather features
Inside one brand, features add $20–$60. Ariat's Sport line is $159.95–$189.95; add VentTEK ventilation, ATS Max or an Ultra build and you are at $225–$280. Durango's Rebel is $149.99–$169; the waterproof Rebel is $192.50 and the Ultra-Lite and Rebel Pro versions are $179.99–$190. A waterproof membrane, a ventilated shaft and a lighter outsole are each worth paying for if you will use them, and not if you will not.
4. Protection (work boots)

Women's and kids' boots
Women's: Durango Lady Rebel $190; Ariat Casanova $279.95; Cuadra smooth leather $419.99–$448 and Cuadra python $498.99–$577.99. Our women's selection is smaller than men's, and it is worth calling ahead for a size.
Kids': Tanner Mark kids' boots $75–$79 and girls' boots $79.99–$99; Durango kids' $79–$89.95. All leather uppers except the Durango kids' style, which is synthetic. Kids outgrow boots before they wear them out, which is why we keep this section under $100.
How to pay less without buying the wrong boot
- The Sale collection is real markdown. Everything in Sale shows the regular price crossed out next to the current one. Right now that includes six Reparo print styles at $109.99 (regular $169.99), Tanner Mark and Ariat Booker Ultra clearance.
- Print instead of genuine. If you want the caiman or ostrich look for a wedding or a weekend, a $109.99–$169 print boot gives you the look. If you want the skin itself, start at $289.99 and read the exotic guide first.
- Layaway. We offer it at the counter for anything in the store, including the Cuadras. Layaway purchases are final sale.
- Buy the fit, not the price. The most expensive boot is the one you stop wearing. Try both feet, with the socks you will wear, and read how boots should fit before you decide. A $160 Durango that fits beats a $400 Cuadra that pinches.
What is not in the price
Texas sales tax (8.25% in Dallas) is added at the register. There is no shipping charge because there is no shipping: every pair is bought and tried on in the store. Hat shaping is included when you buy a hat; boot exchanges are within 30 days with the receipt, unworn, soles unscratched. The full policy is on our store page.

What is a reasonable price for a first pair of cowboy boots? $150 to $200 buys a smooth-leather Durango Rebel, Ariat Sport or Tanner Mark that will last years with basic care. Below that you are in print leather and clearance, which is fine for the look; above it you are paying for construction, features or genuine skin.
Why is a Cuadra $400 when it looks like a $160 boot? Hand construction in León, a resoleable welt and a finishing level you can see in the stitching and the edges. Whether that is worth $240 to you is a personal call; a lot of our customers say yes once they have owned one.
Are $110 boots real leather? Yes. The Reparo styles at $109.99 are printed cowhide with a suede-finish shaft, on sale from $169.99. They are not exotic skin and we do not sell them as exotic.
How much are exotic boots? Genuine exotic starts at $289 (Arango and Tanner Mark python and lizard) and tops out at $1,098.99 (Cuadra crocodile belly). Ostrich and caiman mostly sit between $389.99 and $778 depending on the brand and the cut. The exotic boots guide breaks it down skin by skin.
Do prices change? Yes. Brands adjust wholesale once or twice a year and we adjust with them; sale prices move as inventory sells. The tag on the boot is the price on the day you buy.
