RDR Marlboro 4X Black Felt Cowboy Hat
The Marlboro is a different hat from the Sinaloa Patron, and the difference is the crown. Where a cattleman is creased down the center and dented on each side, the Marlboro block runs taller with straighter sides and pairs with a 4-inch brim. The result reads dressier and more deliberate — it is the shape people choose when they want the hat to be noticed.
In black on 4X wool-blend felt, this is the accessible version of a formal Western profile. Wool felt is the workhorse grade: it takes a crease and holds it under normal wear at a fraction of what fur felt costs, which is why it is the hat most people actually wear rather than save. Black carries the Marlboro shape well, since the taller crown looks sharpest in a color that reads as a single clean silhouette. Worth knowing before you buy: wool is less water-resistant than the fur felt grades, so heavy rain is the one thing to keep it out of.
