Tanner Mark Lizard Black Kabul - TMX200444
Tanner Mark Lizard Black Kabul - TMX200444
Genuine lizard in black with a Kabul-tone top — the most refined exotic in the Tanner Mark line. Lizard gives you a fine, tightly packed scale pattern rather than the bold scales of python or the bumps of ostrich, which makes it the dressiest exotic on the rack: subtle enough for a suit, distinctive enough that anyone who knows leather will recognize it immediately.
Lizard is prized for its scale definition and for how thin and supple the hide is — it conforms to the foot faster than most exotics and stays comfortable through long wear. The fine scale texture catches light in a way that gives the black foot real depth rather than flat color.
The Kabul-tone top gives the shaft a complementary warmth above the black foot, keeping the boot from reading as all one color, finished with traditional stitching.
How these are built. This is Tanner Mark's Black Label construction: the leather outsole is set with lemon wood pegs and brass tacks rather than glued, a steel shank runs through the arch for support, and a three-quarter double-stitched welt joins upper to sole. The shaft is lined in calfskin, the heel is stacked leather, and the insole is comfort cushioned — which means any bootmaker can resole them years from now.
Because lizard is a natural hide, scale pattern and size vary from pair to pair — that variation is how you confirm the leather is genuine.
