The Leon takes a different route than the exotics in the Tanner Mark line: instead of animal texture, it uses an embossed saddle stamp — the tooling pattern traditionally worked into Western saddles — pressed across the vamp in classic black. It's a boot that references saddlery rather than exotic leather, which gives it a working-cowboy authenticity the printed exotics don't have.
The marble black shaft carries tonal variation that keeps the boot from reading flat. Inside, comfort cushion insoles make it wearable through a full day rather than a few hours. The 302 square toe is Tanner Mark's own last profile, giving generous room across the toes.
A leather sole in natural finish delivers the traditional Western feel underfoot and can be resoled by any bootmaker when it wears through. The ¾ double-stitched welt is the construction detail worth noting — double stitching joins the upper to the sole with two rows rather than one, meaningfully more durable, and it's how boots at twice the price are built.
