Pirarucu is the giant Amazonian fish, and its hide produces large overlapping scales that look like nothing else in western footwear — sculptural, almost architectural, closer to armor plating than to conventional leather. Arango reproduces that pattern in embossed leather, in a warm saddle finish.
This is an imitation, and that's the honest trade. The pattern is pressed into real leather rather than taken from a fish. Genuine pirarucu runs several times the price — ask us in store if that's what you're after. This gives you the look and the texture at a fraction of the cost, and it wears evenly because there are no natural scale edges to lift.
Saddle is a warm mid-brown that works with denim and with brown leather alike, and it deepens with wear rather than fading.
