What 100X means. On felt, the X rating describes the fur blend rather than the weave. At 100X you are at the top of Stetson's scale: an exceptionally fine, dense fur felt with a soft hand and a deep sheen that holds its shape and finish for years. Don't read it against the X number on a straw hat — those are rated on an entirely different scale.
Classic cattleman styling with a tall crown and a 4-inch brim. The self-felt hatband is dyed the same shade as the body of the hat and set apart by a three-piece buckle in solid 10-karat gold. Inside, a satin-lined crown and a leather sweatband.
