The SP is the Cody Johnson signature hat from Resistol — 6X fur felt in Sahara, made in Garland, Texas.
What 6X means. On a felt hat the X rating describes the quality of the fur blend, not the weave. A 6X is genuine fur felt — rabbit, beaver and wild hare — not wool, which is the line between a hat that holds its shape through weather and breaks in to your head and one that goes soft after a season. Straw hats use the X letter for something different, where it measures how fine and tight the weave is, so the numbers don't compare across materials.
The SP carries a 4 3/8" brick crown with a 4¼" brim, a genuine leather sweatband that molds to your head over time, and a silver three-piece buckle set on the hatband. Pre-creased in Cody's brick profile.
