This is the kids' version of the chukka driving moc — the shoe Twisted X is best known for, scaled down and built the same way. The Bomber and Tan two-tone gives it a worn-in look straight out of the box, and the woven panel across the vamp is the detail that separates it from a plain leather shoe.
The upper is full-grain leather, laced open-chukka style with a moc toe, so it holds a kid's foot properly instead of letting it slide around the way a low shoe does. Inside, a lightweight EVA footbed and a three-quarter composite insole do the support work. The outsole is molded rubber blended with rice husk left over from harvest — enough grip for a school hallway or a gravel driveway. There's no break-in period; they're comfortable the first day, which matters when a kid has one pair of shoes for the week.
